Not true at all, you just have to make sure you're searching for users and not for posts which is the default
I tried putting in the link directly it's just not showing up for me. Used VPN and everything just in case it was an IP thing
Unless you're already following someone, subscribed or previously subscribed, the search engine will give you nothing. You need a link to be able to first subscribe to someone
Looks like she might have deleted the account if your IP definitely isn't blocked
